Terms of Use

Live Paper for iOS and iPadOS

Last updated:

In this document, "we", "us", and "our" refer to the developer of Live Paper, who can be contacted at yearplan@163.com. These terms describe use of the app and its optional Plus purchases. By using Live Paper, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. App license and applicable terms

Your license to the app is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. These Terms of Use supplement that agreement with information specific to Live Paper and do not replace it. If there is a conflict about the app license, the Standard End User License Agreement governs. App Store purchases are also subject to Apple's applicable terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer or other statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

2. Using Live Paper

Live Paper lets you create personal notes with paper backgrounds, text, drawings, and stickers, and browse saved notes by date, category, or place. You can use the app without creating an account. Camera access, location, and recording reminders are optional. Local saving does not require photo-library access.

You may edit a draft before saving. Once saved, a note is a finished image and its record cannot be edited in the app; it can be deleted. Check the content, location, and save destination before confirming.

Use the app lawfully and only import material you own or have permission to use. Do not infringe another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights, interfere with the app's security, or bypass purchase verification. If you cannot enter into these terms independently under local law, use the app with the permission and supervision required from a parent or guardian.

3. Your content and app materials

You retain your rights in the text, photos, and drawings you create or import. We do not claim ownership of that content. The app processes it on your device to carry out the actions you choose; these terms do not grant us a right to upload, publish, or use your journal for advertising.

The app, built-in paper designs, illustrations, fonts, and other app materials remain the property of their respective owners. You may incorporate the materials supplied by the app into your finished notes through the app's intended features. Access to the app or Plus does not transfer ownership of these materials or grant a right to redistribute them as a standalone asset collection. Applicable third-party licenses remain in effect.

4. Live Paper Plus

Plus unlocks additional paper backgrounds, custom backgrounds made from your photos with cropping and paper effects, and the option to save notes without the app watermark. The available benefits are described on the purchase screen before you buy.

Plus is offered through the App Store in three forms, where available:

These options provide the same Plus features. Prices, currency, taxes, billing periods, and any introductory offer are those shown by the App Store and in Apple's purchase confirmation. We do not set a different price in these terms.

Plus is activated only after a purchase or entitlement is verified by the App Store. A pending purchase, including one awaiting parental approval, does not unlock Plus until Apple approves and verifies it.

5. Subscription billing, trials, and cancellation

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase, unless an eligible free trial applies. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel. Apple may charge for renewal within the 24 hours before the next subscription period begins.

To avoid a renewal charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your device's Settings > your name > Subscriptions, or through the subscription-management link in Live Paper. See Apple's cancellation instructions for your country or region. Deleting the app, stopping use, or contacting our support does not cancel an Apple subscription.

A free trial is offered only if one is configured in the App Store and Apple determines that you are eligible. The trial length and the price and billing period that follow it are displayed before purchase. Unless cancelled, a trial converts automatically to the selected paid subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged. The lifetime option does not include a subscription trial.

Cancellation stops future renewal. The end of your access, including any trial access, is determined by the entitlement status provided by Apple. If a subscription price changes, Apple provides notice and obtains consent where required by its rules or applicable law.

6. Lifetime purchases, restoration, and refunds

A lifetime purchase is billed once and does not renew. Buying lifetime Plus does not automatically cancel an existing monthly or annual subscription. If you switch to lifetime, cancel your existing subscription through Apple to prevent further subscription charges.

You can use Restore Purchases in the app while signed in to the Apple Account associated with your purchase. Restoration restores eligible Plus access; it does not restore locally stored notes, drafts, or custom backgrounds. Eligibility on another device is subject to Apple's account and purchase rules.

Apple handles App Store refund requests under its policies and applicable law. You can request a refund through Apple's Report a Problem service; see Apple's refund instructions. These terms do not restrict your statutory refund rights. A refund or revocation can remove Plus access, including access from a lifetime purchase.

If Plus expires or is revoked, your saved images are not changed or deleted. Drafts and custom backgrounds remain on the device, but making or using Plus backgrounds and saving with Plus-only features require active access. Free features remain available.

7. Storage and deletion

Saved images are kept either in Apple Photos or in the app's local storage, according to your selection. The app does not provide a developer-operated cloud backup or synchronization service. Keep a backup of content you wish to preserve using options available on your device.

Deleting a locally stored note removes its original image and record without an in-app recovery bin. Deleting a note stored in Photos requires Apple's confirmation and follows its Recently Deleted process. Uninstalling the app removes its local content and index; images already saved in Photos remain there. Restoring a purchase does not recover content deleted from local storage.

If you save with a location, the finished image includes precise GPS metadata. Hiding the visible time does not remove the creation-time metadata. Remove a location before saving if you do not want it included. Review image metadata and sharing settings before sending an image through Photos or another service.

8. Apple services and availability

The app uses Apple Photos, location and map services, StoreKit, and system notifications. Some operations require permission, a compatible device, network access, or an available Apple service. Those services are subject to Apple's terms and settings. Map positions and place names may be approximate or inaccurate.

We provide support for Live Paper using the contact details below. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for this third-party app, except where required by applicable law. The warranty and liability provisions of the Standard End User License Agreement apply, subject to rights that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Updates and contact

We may update the app and these terms to reflect feature changes, security requirements, or legal obligations. Revised terms will show a new date. We will provide any notice or obtain any agreement required by applicable law. Changes do not override a purchase's disclosed billing conditions or your mandatory consumer rights.
